Glossary
The words on the screen.
Twelve terms, defined the way they are measured in Concept Digital Factory.
- OEE01
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Availability × Performance × Quality, expressed as a percentage of planned production time.
- Availability02
- Run time divided by planned production time. Loses points to every stop, planned or not, inside the planned window.
- Performance03
- Ideal cycle time divided by actual cycle time while running. Loses points to slow cycles and micro-stops.
- Quality04
- Good parts divided by total parts produced. Loses points to scrap and rework.
- Takt time05
- The rate at which parts must be completed to meet customer demand. Cycle time must sit inside it.
- Cycle time06
- Time from the start of one part to the start of the next on a machine, measured, not assumed.
- Micro-stop07
- A stop shorter than a set threshold, usually two minutes, that rarely gets reported manually.
- MTBF08
- Mean Time Between Failures. Average running time between unplanned stops.
- MTTR09
- Mean Time To Repair. Average duration of an unplanned stop from start to restart.
- Changeover10
- Time from the last good part of one order to the first good part of the next.
- Digital twin11
- A live data counterpart of a physical machine: its state, history and plan, kept in sync with the floor.
- Reason code12
- A short, agreed label an operator or the system attaches to a stop so losses can be ranked by cause.
